NEW DELHI: The scene outside the Secretariat was no different than Rail Bhawan. A group of contract workers, for the fifth day, protested against AAP government’s failure to provide them permanent jobs.
One of the protesters got severely injured after a car rammed into him on Monday noon. Victim Praveen Tobadia, a guest teacher, was rushed to Lok Nayak Hospital.

His leg has been fractured.
“I have been asked to undergo a surgery for my shoulder and the foot fracture will take at least four to six weeks to heel. The government, which itself is sitting in protest, has no value for protesters like us who have been sitting outside the secretariat for five days now,” Tobadia said.
The protesters, comprising guest teachers and paramedical staff, went to the local police station to register an FIR against the AAP government, holding it responsible for the mishap. Police said a case has been registered against unknown persons.
“We feel cheated and misled. Instead of attending to us the CM has gone on a protest,” said Dr Desh Raj, who worked on contract with National Rural Health Mission.
